Abstract

Present study deals with the investigation of protozoan and nematodes parasites from Periplanata americana (Blattidae, Insecta) during a period of one year (June 2016 to December 2017). Total 250 cockroaches have examined out of which 190 intestinal content of cockroach were positive to protozoan and nematode parasites. Among Protozoan, Monocercomonoides marthwadensis, Polymastix rayi, Gregarine blattarum, Nyctotherus periplanatae whereas among nematodes, Leidynema spp, Blatcola monandris spp Hammerschmidtila spp, Oxyuris spp and Thalastoma spp, were identified. The correlation of nematode reveals protozoan have high negative correlation rate -4.9896 with Leidynema sp. The correlation was measured by Pearson formula using MS Excel sheet. From June to August the infection is more abundant whereas moderate from September to April.
