Abstract
The chaetotaxy of the last instar caterpillars of Earias insulana and Earias vittella have been elaborated to evolve the features of taxonomic significance. The relative length of coronal stem and frons, position of Fa, AFa, P2, anterodorsal, cellar and suboccellar areas on head capsule, shape of prothoracic shield, setae of SD and L. groups on prothorax, SV roup on thoracic segments, SD, SV and V groups on abdominal segments and position of scolous and pinaculae of different setae are depicted as diagonostic features in the present study.
