Abstract

A new nematode Dichelyne (Neocucullanellus) kheri sp. nov. (Family : Cucullanidae) described from the intestine of a marine fish, Polynemus sextarius (Bleekar) from Bhubneswar (Orrisa). Present specimens differ from all the valid species of the subgenus Dichelyne (Neocucullanellus) in the absence of cervical papillae. Further. It can be differentiated from all species of the genus except D. (N.) longispiculum in the absence of gubernaculums, but it differs from it in the presence of precloacal sucker.
